The Loot for Litter Program is to provide financial assistance to organizations or Adopt-A-Street/Creek participants for their efforts in helping collect litter along roadways or public areas within the city limits.
Funds will be made available to organizations, groups, schools or Adopt-A-Street/Creek participants who meet the eligibility requirements. If approved, Keep Abilene Beautiful (KAB) Loot for Litter Program will fund up to $100 per litter pickup event. KAB will fund no more than 6 litter cleanups a year OR $600 per year. No private property cleanups are eligible.
- Applicant agrees to provide at least two before and two after pictures to KAB 5 business days after the clean-up.
- Applicants must agree to supply the labor/volunteers. Applicants will also be responsible for signing and returning the Release of Liability Forms and providing adequate adult supervision for all minors. (Return no later than 5 business days after the clean-up.)
- Applicants may be disqualified from submitting an application or receiving awards in subsequent years if the participant has not complied with these requirements.
Once your application has been received, KAB Loot for Litter committee has up to 10 days to review and respond to applicants. Groups or Adopt-A-Street/Creek participants agree to complete the event as agreed upon. Other than weather related cancellations, a seven (7) day notice is required if the cleanup has to be cancelled. If the cleanup is not rescheduled within 45 days time from the originally scheduled event, any KAB funds will need to be returned in full 60 days after the original cleanup day was scheduled. KAB will contact you with additional information once a decision is reached.
